If you can not make it up to the wilds of Mondulkiri (in eastern Cambodia) for a real trek then at least you can have your photo taken on Sam Bo, Phnom Penh's resident elephant. For just USD3 for one or USD5 for two, you can enjoy this regal mode of transport if only for a circuit of Wat Phnom (circa 15 minutes). Though his owner will not accept payment in kind, you can buy Sam Bo's favor with offerings of bread or bananas (unpeeled).
