Description
Belmonte is the only Sacro Monte in the province of Turin. It lies on top of a hill that dominates the Canavesa plateau, covering 349 hectares at a height of between 400-700 metres.
The Sacro Monte is certainly the most noticeable element: there are broad-leaf woods of chestnuts, oak and birch, numerous ornamental species and even botanical rarities such as 'Osmunda regalis' ferns, and the carnivorous plant 'Drosera intermedia'.
