If you would like to find out more about the life of monks during the Middle Ages, you are never going to get a better chance than this, the Rublev Museum. Rublev is Russia's most venerated painter in the venerable history of icon-painting.

The museum is located within the grounds of the Andronikov Monastery where the famous painter once resided. The collection includes icons as well as handwritten and printed books from the 15th to the 17th centuries. There are also works of applied art from the collections of the Tretiakov Gallery, the Moscow History Museum and the Kremlin.
