As you are heading out along the Hang Dong Road, you cannot miss Ratana House, a fabulous teakwood house (really a life-sized spirit house). It is a very well-maintained shop with quite a collection of temple artifacts, salvage items, antique furniture and reproductions. Elaborate candelabras, inspired by temple carvings, are available for THB18,000 whilst marble reclining Buddhas cost THB14,000. Ratana carries some unusual items, such as cool, wooden Asian 'strollers,' definitely from a bygone era, and also carries a large collection of elephant bells, which are popular with collectors.
