The Queensland Museum has six campuses across the state. The main Museum is housed at Southbank in walking distance from Southbank Parklands. There are a wide variety of educational exhibits. The Sciencentre offers hours of interactive, science-based fun for kids of all ages. It is also greatly interesting for adults. Because there are so many exhibits (almost 100 interactive), they have been themed to make access easier.

There are three galleries: Body Zone is about skeletons and other things human. You will learn fascinating information like ‘how the brain works’. Earth Space talks about subjects like the tide. Action Stations informs you of phenomena such as electricity and how it is created.

The scope of the exhibits is quite amazing. There are area spectacles such as the Dinosaur Garden and the Whale Mall, which stuns the kids with a lifesize whale hanging from the ceiling, sound recording and all. Discover Queensland informs visitors and locals alike about the history of Queensland. It is very comprehensive, well researched and informative. Endangered Species teaches kids and their parents about the need for ecology and conservation. Mephisto is an exhibit of the only remaining German tank from World War 1. It is flanked by reconstructed soldiers and accurately conveys the atmosphere of those times.

Kangaroos is a reconstruction that is quite convincing. The modeled stuffed animals are set in an attractive, realistic constructed environment that is appealing and informative. The kids can learn to identify many of the species. Dandiiri Maiwar is a space where two distinct Indigenous cultures - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allow their stories, histories and achievements to be showcased, explored and presented.

The museum has an Inquiry Centre that acts as a rounding out of the displays presented systematically so that the viewers can browse the educational array at their lesiure, with assistance upon request.
