Description
Pushkin is devoutly adored in Russia as the frontman of classical Russian literature. This museum illustrates the life and creative genius of the famous poet, who lived during the early part of the nineteenth century. Pushkin is most widely known in the west for the poetic novel Eugene Onegin - the work has been set to music in an opera by Peter Tchaikovsky, and more recently an English-language screen version was released.
At the museum you can see the exhibition Pushkin and his Epoch, which portrays Pushkin's contemporaries and the literary master's 19th century milieu. The exhibition includes paintings, sculpture and works of folk art. The museum organizes literary and musical evenings with well-known musical performers. Entry is 15RUR ($0.5).
