Description
This company offers a number of different ways to learn how to ride the waves, including private lessons, group lessons, and camps. Instructor Jim Miller, a certified lifeguard, has been coaching surfing since 1989. He teaches surfers of all ages and skill levels and focuses first on safety. For avid surfers, ages 11 through 17, the Jalama Surf Camp every August offers a weeklong camping trip at a secluded beach north of Santa Barbara. Admission: Group lessons start at $70 for a two-hour session.
