Description
One of the oldest musical traditions left from the island's days of Spanish occupation, a turn-of-the-century ballroom dance that is similar to the waltz is a focus of this annual event. After a week of historical and cultural events that includes a writer's competition, demonstrations in period dress, concerts and a parade, a final concert is performed by the city's band. The Institute of Puerto Rican Culture sponsors this very popular event. Admission prices for the many events and programs vary; call for times and costs.
