Description
Baseball, or beisbol as it is called in Spanish, is one of Puerto Rico's favorite pastimes. The local league begins its games in November and ends in January, with six teams competing in a series of 50 games. Baseball fans should expect a AAA-level of play. Occasionally a US major-league player spends his off season playing here. The ballparks are government-owned and feature molded plastic seating, rather than bleachers. When buying your ticket, ask if your seating is covered. Winter is the rainy season and you might want to spend a little extra money to get box seats and a roof over your head. General Admission tickets cost approximately USD3.
