Description
Organized as part of feast day ceremonies in honour of Naples's patron saint, this religious procession brings the faithful together to celebrate the miracle of San Gennaro's blood, which is said to bring the city good fortune. The Feast of San Gennaro, celebrated the first Saturday of every May and on 19 September, is one of the oldest religious festivals in Campania, the region of which Naples is the capital city. The procession starts at the cathedral, and ends at the Basilica of St. Chiara after making its way through the city's most picturesque streets.
