Day 4 - Princeville Golf Resort

Princeville Golf Resort

Our next stop was Queen's Bath [see separate entry], which meant we had to drive through the exclusive Princeville Golf Club inside the Princeville Resort. As soon as you drive past the guards at the iron gates, it is obvious that the people who own a home in here, whether they rent them out to tourists or not, are all moneyed.

The golf course is beautiful and well-maintained. My boyfriend and I are not golfers but if we were, we'd probably join the throngs of folks who fly to Kauai just to golf.

Beautiful views of the ocean and the rainforest. The course is difficult and requires skill in placing shots. Definitely a shot maker's course. #1 course in the Hawaiian Islands. A must for the avid golfer.

Played all 27 holes. After the playing the Prince I was expecting to be let down, but I wasn't. All 27 holes were fantastic, some holes had better views than the Prince Course. I will definitely play again.

What a fun course. Every hole is a challenge, every hole a postcard. The course was a lot of fun and the service was excellent. I will play there again. Ok, it was $150, but you're on vacation, enjoy it.

Tiger shot an 84. I'm a 10-14 handicapper and was pleased with a 101 from the middle/back tees. The views are amazing. Fairways are generous. Greens pretty true. Lots of blind, tunnel, or setup shots. Knowing the course would definetly help. The concession guy slept in (we were the only ones on the course at 8am on a Saturday!). But, to his defense, when he heard my wife was four months pregnant, he had sandwiches, beverages, etc. out there on the double with a little discount to boot. Beautiful, HARD, and fun. Not for the budget conscious. Play there early and go to the "sister" courses for 1/2 price golf. Must be done the same day, but well worth it.
