Total fun. You get used to the vendors quickly. So many activities to choose from. Breakfast at The Office is the best, with your feet in the sand. Book any water based activity right on the beach. Easy walk in to town on the beach - just stop for a beverage if you get tired. Watch the fish jumping at night. Cruise ships just add to the splendor.

They are very accommodating. All water activities are right in front of the resorts. You can take water taxis instead of walking the shoreline if you have a short distance to a specific attraction. The beach wasn't the best for swimming, but it was fantastic for sipping a cold daiquiri on a sunny day under a cabana!

Go to the right for a little peace and quiet, or jump right in at Billygans and partake in two-for-one drinks all day, loud music, and participate in contests. Non-stop vendors with a wide variety of wares. Beware, however, that the jewelry is NOT solid silver. More likely it is silver plated despite the asking prices of $30-40. You can easily get any piece for $5-$6. Find Santiago in front of Billygans for $200 in food vouchers after a timeshare tour at the Hacienda del Mar.

The beach is very clean and the jet skis are right near the Pueblo Bonito Rose. My husband and I had lunch on the beach and watched the kids ride the jet skis.

Most of the beach was washed away after Hurrican Juliette in October 2001. We were really disappointed. Also, the peddlers are extremely annoying and plentiful. We were offered drugs twice, but I never felt like I was in any danger. On the plus side, there are plenty of water taxi's to Playa Del Amore and El Arco, and there are plenty of jet ski places. I would recommend paying cash- our credit card number was stolen and used to buy computer equiment which was waiting on our doorstep when we got home.
