Mountain Biking in Greece

There are many mountains in the Athens area of Greece all of which are suitable for mountain biking.
Pendeli, Parnitha, Ymittos and the area of Tatoi at the base of Parnitha.
People don't think of Greece when they are looking for a mountain biking destination, but the Athens area has as many different types of riding as you'll find anywhere else and it has the benefit of great weather and fantastic beaches to boot!
There are a couple of mountain bike guiding companies in the area who can show you the little used trails. Everything from wide fire roads to tight twisty technical singletrack. All the riding starts from 0m (most times you can start at the beach and be in the mountains in about 10 minutes) and can go up to 1000m (Pendeli) 1200m (Ymittos) and 1400m (Parnitha). For more up and down and less UP and DOWN there is the Royal Forest at Tatoi. Enjoy this little known mountain biking destination to its fullest!
