Description
Situated in the Medlock Valley between Ashton and Oldham, the remains of this early industrial community based around an iron works have been carefully restored. More than 200 years ago, Park Bridge was a thriving family-run business employing over 800 people to make parts for the expanding cotton spinning trade and other local industries.
Now a purpose-built heritage centre helps visitors find out about how wrought iron was made and rolled, while a fascinating two-mile local history trail takes in all the main features of the hamlet.
