Description: Father's day was coming near, and I was running out of options of what to do with my daughter. I thought that I could take her to an amusement park, but with the recession affecting even my wallet, I decided to find somewhere cheaper. One day, I was listening to the radio and heard about how people were going to museum because of the fun factor and the affordability to take their kids. Then it hit me- Why not take my daughter to the Palm Springs Air Museum?
Arrival
We arrived to the museum on a super hot day. Temperatures in Palm Springs on a June day would reach above 100 degree, and that is around 10 am. I decided to take my daughter to check out the planes that were parked outside getting beat down by the summer heat. Many of the planes outside were for wars such as the Gulf War- Planes such as the Hornet was on display on the lawns of the Palm Springs Museum. What was amazing was that my daughter was interested in seeing each and every plane. She was so excited that she wanted me to take pictures of her modeling in front of the planes. As we continue to look at the planes, my daughter was ready to go inside the museum to the comforts of air condition.
Inside
As my daughter and I went into the museum, we were kindly greeted by veterans who fought in War World 2. My daughter had grabbed all the attention of these veterans for her cuteness that they couldn't help but to pat her on the head. Admission was free for because I am in the military.
Tip- If you are military, many museum are even allowing many service members to come in for free. This museum allow many service members to come in for free. All you have to do if you are in the military is show your military id. What great way to say thank you for those who have or still is serving to defend this country.
At first glance, the museum seemed very small; however, I was surprised at how big the museum was. This museum had every war plane that you can think of. The main attraction to this museum is the importance of planes during World War 2. My daughter and I explored the museum, even getting a picture taken inside a plane. I have to say that I love war museums because I love war history, so this place definitely feed my love of war history.
As my daughter and I continue to explore, I noticed that this museum has everything for everybody. If you wanted to a place to take your kids to play, they had a kid's area where there were a fire truck, a plane that they could paint on, and a plane to go inside to allow their imagination run wild. If love cars, you can see the classic Rolls Royace. If you are a plane lover, you would definitely appreciate this museum for all the collection of planes.
There is a movie theater inside the museum that is free that teaches you the importance of planes during World War 2. During the showing, my daughter did not care for it, but I enjoyed the 45 minute movie. There is even a library that you can check out books from the museum.
Hungry Kid
My daughter eventually got hungry, so I decide to see if the museum had a place to eat. They did, but sadly, it was not enough to feed her, so I decided that we would leave the museum to eat at another restaurant.
Conclusion
I thoroughly enjoyed this museum- Everything from the planes to history of planes. I hope and plan on returning this museum one day. I not only learned a lot, but I got to enjoy Father's Day with my daughter, which is the most important thing for me on this day.
