Palacio Municipal

Description

Located opposite the Plaza de la Independencia, and the Palacio de Gobierno, this palace was built at the end of the seventies. Three murals by the Ecuadorian naif painter Gonzalo Endara Crow, are prominently displayed inside. One of them represents Quito, and the other two represent Ecuador. The ground floor of this building is like an extension of the Plaza de la Independencia. This is a very attractive place for tourists, due to its location in the colonial part of the city and the fact that it is the seat of the local government.
