We found it to be a pristine, attraction. The weather here was colder than in and around Nanaimo, where our timeshare was near. We also went through a museum on this same property to learn more about the history of the area.

This is a great town for cyclists because of the seawalk that goes around the whole city. Altough BC is famous for mountain biking, most of the places require transportation from the city. The Pacific Spirit park, on the other hand is accessible from the seawalk after about a 8 mile ride from downtown. The park has nice trails, some hills but not too technical, and a good place for riders with limited experience or those not looking for the extreme trails.
