Description
The annual Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race is always a keenly contested event between these two ancient English universities. It originated in 1829, and the two teams have been neck and neck ever since, although Cambridge has won a few more races overall. The Race commences from Putney Bridge and finishes four miles later at Mortlake, though the amazing levels of strength and fitness achieved by the rowers means that, these days, it is all over in less than 20 minutes... The race is usually held on the first Saturday in April or the last Saturday in March.
