Description
Legend has it that the Abbey was founded by Carlo Magno, in reality he saw the development throughout the medieval period during which it reached its peak of grandeur. The church has a magnificent roman tiled, sandstone façade, the interior is strangely asymmetrical as the lateral right nave has been incorporated into the cloister. In the central nave there is an embellished partition with a bas-relief. The small cloister is well-proportioned and enchanting with remains of picturesque medieval decorations.
