Description
Originally built in 1925, this handsome building later became the first city hall. Outside, there is a mosaic sculpture by Nahum Gutman. Inside, there is a room with municipal plans, maps, aerial photos, mass-transit routes, great for those with a special fondness for urban planning. There is also a municipal archive and library. Upstairs is the former office of Meir Dizengoff, the first mayor of Tel Aviv, whose name graces countless signs in the city. At the time of writing, this area was closed off indefinitely for renovations. Admission is free.
