For a price of $39 (reduced for timeshare owners) we received round trip transportation, winery tour, tasting, and a five-course dinner.

My husband and I did not know what to expect. We thought this might be fun and it sure was. There were eighteen of us going.

First, we got on the bus and went to Newport Vineyards. There we had a tour of the fields, and the winery. We were lucky because they were actually crushing grapes that day, so we got to see how they did it. The vats that hold the wine were huge and we saw the oak barrels that hold some of the wine. Our bus driver, Craig, was also our wine guide for today. After telling us how wine was made, we went to an outside tent to do some wine tasting. We could taste up to five different wines. Since I like white wine, I stuck strictly to that, while my husband did mostly red. They served wine crackers that actually took the taste of the wine away, so that each sip you took was fresh. They were made with lemon and vanilla. It was amazing. Before I left I bought lots of wine and four boxes of those crackers.

After everyone got back on the bus, we went to the "Bay Voyage Restaurant". It is located in Jamestown, RI and is part of an RCI resort. When we walked into the dining room, the site was incredible. At each place setting, was five glasses of wine each filled with a different wine.

Now the fun begins. For hors d'oeuvres we had little spinach quiches,and coconut covered chicken strips with a white wine called Great White. Next, we had mixed greens in house vinaigrette with a White Chardonnay. The first course was Grilled Salmon with tomato salsa with a white wine called Seyval Blanc. The second course consisted of Grilled Flat Iron Steak with wild mushroom ragout accompanied by red wine called Gemini. For dessert we had chocolate mousse with the dessert wine Port.

We started this adventure at 2:45pm and returned about 7:15pm. It was fantastic. We meet so many new people and had a wonderful time.
