Neues Rathaus is the New Town Hall, built sometime between 1867 and 1908 with a two-level Glockenspiel with 32 mechanical figures reenacting the 1568 marriage between Duke Wilhelm V and Renata of Lorraine, a knights' tournament, and cooper's famous dance, performed at 11am daily. In the summer it is also at noon and 5pm.
At 9pm, a watchman with horn and lantern, the Angel of Peace signal, is given to Münchner Kindl, the city mascot, who's a monk.
Take the lift to the 4th floor and pay €2 to continue in another lift to the ninth floor for a panoramic view of the city.
