Description
One of the most Angeleno of all L.A. attractions is this one-of-a-kind downtown museum. The city was one of the first in the world to embrace the widespread use of neon, which once illuminated all kinds of buildings, most notably theater marquees. While still prominent today, only a few areas like the shopping districts along Melrose Avenue embrace neon wholeheartedly. The museum displays neon creations dating back to the 1920s, when a local car dealership installed the first neon ever in America.
