Description

This place honors the name of Fray Pedro Bedón, distinguished Dominican painter and Prior of the Convento de Santo Domingo de Quito in 1598. This religious man is remembered for having founded a guild of indigenous painters from Quito. The museum, inside the Convent of Santo Domingo, is dedicated to Dominican art. In one room there is an image of the Virgin of Quito, credited to the studio of the sculptor Bernardo de Legarda.
