There are two types of bookstore in Phnom Penh--one where you find a limited selection specially photocopied for the tourist market and the other, which stocks good-quality books from publishers who actually pay royalties to their authors. Monument Books belongs to the second category and it is probably the best of its kind in Phnom Penh. As well as books on Cambodia and Indochina, you will also find a good range of picture books, novels, reference books and maps. The international press is also stocked here.
