When I was a little girl I attended the tournament with my parents. I remember watching Clint Eastwood in the midst of his Dirty Harry days hitting a line drive down the fairway. Jack Lemon was in the midst of a bad golf day, (While a fan, my mother thought he was taking his game entirely too seriously---maybe he was warming up for Grumpy Old Men!), while Jack Nicklaus was making an awesome putt from a sandtrap. I also distinctly remember the singer Glen Campbell in a pink golf sweater smiling kindly and signing autographs for fans. As big of a celebrity production today as it was back then, this tournament remains a crowd pleaser.
If you are more into playing golf than watching others play, Pebble Beach is for you, too. Just keep in mind, world famous courses are expensive. While public, the following courses require reservations (Well in advance!!!!) and have steep greens fees. Pebble Beach alone can cost more than $300 for a single round!

Peter Hay Par 3 Golf Course (831-624-3811) 9 holes.
Spyglass Hill Golf Course (831-624-6611) Spyglass Hill Road. 18 holes, 6,357 yards, par 72.
The Links at Spanish Bay (831-624-3811) at the Inn at Spanish Bay. 18 holes, 6,357 yards, par 72.
