Description: Located on Victoria Street in central Manchester, the Manchester Cathedral is one of the city's crowning architectural glories. Officially known as The Cathedral and Collegiate Church of St. Mary, St. Denys and St. George in Manchester, the cathedral dates back to the 16th century, though it has been heavily restored and refaced during the Victorian period and after the 1940 Manchester Blitz during WWII. A great representation of the perpendicular-Gothic style, the cathedral is known for its beautiful late medieval wooden furnishings, including the pulpit, choir stalls, and the nave roof supported by angels with gilded instruments.
