Madame Tussaud's Museum

While we had about a one-hour wait, and it was truly an experience to walk through this wax museum in London. You can see famous kings, presidents, or dictators. You make the decision.

The work and likeness of these famous people is striking. You can easily spend a good half-day just looking at the intricate workmanship of these wax figurines. From the Fab Four to Elvis himself, it is truly amazing.

All the wax people are grouped and put in settings that add to the air of the place. Enter the garden party with the likes of Governor Arnold and the singing styles of Tom Jones. From history to pop culture, it is all here.

I have been visiting the U.K. since I was a child. I always wanted to go to Madame Tussaud's, but nobody would ever take me. Now I think I understand why. If you've ever wanted to stand next to a dummy Princess Diana -- here's your chance. Marvel at all the tiny celebrities! Stand next to Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones! If you absolutely must go, do not pay full entrance price. It's not worth it. There's really not enough in this little museum to warrant the full price admission.

Madame Tussauds Wax Museum

Amazing! The wax reproductions of celebrities, heroes, musicians, royalty, etc. are SO lifelike. And the best part is they let you touch and take pictures of the exhibits. You'll have to wait in a long line to gain admission...but don't let that deter you. This is a must-see!

Madam Tussaud's is world renowned for its realistic wax models. Founded about 170 years ago the artist used to create the realistic models out of sown leather. today in the age of technology the models are made of of a mixture of rubber and fibreglass. even today all models are created by hand.

I was there a long time ago. As a child I was facinated with celebretarys and seeing michael jackson life size was amazing. You can take a history tour in a london taxi, and it will take you from past to present showing how the models used to be created and how they are today it is quiet amazing.

Seeing Sean Connery as James Bond, Michael Caine, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and hundreds more. Madam Tussauds just unveiled a Michelle Quan the world renowned figure skater and the real michelle posed identically as the model and the audience couldn't identify the real michelle until she moved. It was quite amazing. Madam Tussaud's is currently doing a US tour and has excibitions in New York and Los Angeles.

The London Museum is such a treat. It is a museum of artists magnificant works of art. My favourite wax model had to be Yoda from Starwars--he is so cool.

Crowds can vary busy and quiet. I went when it was in between. But from what I hear the best time to go is in the morning.

Tickets for the event were £5 approx $10 so today would be within 10-20 dollars per person.

The queue can go and on,best to go in the morning and get a head start. If you have infants, take note that strollers are to be left at a designated area and they will provide a carrier for your child. We found that out too late and caused quite a hassle cause my cranky niece had fallen asleep! As you go in,expect a crowd but bearable. Some of the works are realistic but there were a few that were not convincing.Consider a trip to Madame Tassaud's the only ticket to meeting the "stars". I personally enjoyed the vault of horror,I'm a horror fan. All and all it was worth the visit. And pick a souvenir on your way out.
