Description
This store is a pleasure to browse around. The impressive stock includes old and rare books, as well as antique maps and original prints. Many of the older books bear some relation to Jewish culture or the Middle East. The maps and prints concern primarily the area of Palestine (A.K.A. the ‘Holy Land'). Romanticised engravings by European artists show the country's famous locales – Jerusalem, Jaffa – back when they were ancient cities surrounded by open country. Not all the books are historic. There are a number of large hardbacks, most concerning art. Considering the esoteric nature of the business, the shop's open hours are limited, though meetings can be arranged by appointment.
