These gardens really are balm to a weary traveller's soul. Lush plants, some tropical and jungle-like, and some European, all carry identification plates for the botanists amongst you. Winding paths weave round them, over arched bridges, past sitting areas, and back to the traditional Chinese mansion in the middle of the moat. All this once belonged to the wealthy Lou family, but now it is the residents of Macau, some probably as old as the trees in this garden, and their caged singing birds who add to the mellow atmosphere.
