Description
'One of Britain's biggest motoring spectacles with an estimated one million people lining the route, this June run (not race) heads through central London, Westminster, Lambeth, Thornton Heath, Croydon, Purley, Redhill and Gatwick, before taking B-roads from Crawley to Brighton. Only cars built before 1 January 1905 are eligible. Of course, the ripe old age of many of these veteran cars mean that quite a few don't make it to the finish line. Cars are limited to 20 mph, so it's no wonder that the race starts at 7.30am.
