London Frog Tours

This is one of the greatest addtions to London's tourist sightseeing offers. The tours last approximately one and a half hours. The London Frogtour Company is now open for business. This brand new attraction is more than just a sightseeing tour; it is an exciting road and river adventure appealing to visitors of all ages.

Departing from County Hall, London Frog Tours amphibious vehicles will drive past famous landmarks such as Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus before a dramatic launch into the Thames from their new slipway at Vauxhall for the water borne part of the 80 minute programme. The excitement of seeing the capital in this novel way is enhanced by an entertaining, action packed commentary by our Phileas Frogg character guides providing an alternative view of London's history and fascinating facts and figures about the frog vehicles.

The amphibious craft, originally known as 'DUKWS,' were first used for the D-Day landings when more than 21,000 were built to take the troops ashore. To reflect their amphibious nature they have been re-named 'Frogs' for the London adventure.

Today's vehicles bear little resemblance to their military predecessors in their eye-catching yellow livery. A fleet of 18 vehicles is being totally rebuilt to meet the stringent safety regulations set by the D.E.T.R. and the Maritime and Coastguard Agency (M.C.A). The amphibious craft are captained by Thames Watermen who also hold Passenger Carrying Vehicle licences.

The vehicles have been extensively refurbished and fitted with the latest environmentally friendly diesel engines. The deluxe refit includes ducted heating, comfortable seating for thirty passengers, a public address system and full safety equipment.

An investment of £1.3 million has been made in London's newest millennium attraction which makes this an excellent tour option!
