Don't Miss the London Aquarium!

The aquarium is a spectacular day out for all the family as it houses one of Europe's largest displays of global aquatic life. During half-term week (from 25th October), you could try the Halloween ‘terrors of the deep’ tour which includes some of the scarier exhibits including piranhas, jellyfish, stonefish and sharks. There's also a half-term half price offer for certain online bookings so even more reason to get yourselves over there to check it out!

It doesn't seem like it makes sense to go to a European city and then hang out in an aquarium, but with the Eye of London, the Tate Modern, and the Thames surrounding it, you'll at least see the outside of the aquarium. I went in and loved it. They divide the aquatic life into regions of the world and water systems. There's a touching pool, three floors of tranquil colors, and every imaginable sea creature. It's wonderful.

This is a very nice aquarium. It is located a short walk down from the London Eye and across the Thames river from the Parliament. It offers a nice display of fish from around the world including fish from the USA. It features the Thames River in a manner that is similar to how the Tennessee Aquarium features the Tennessee River. There is also a very, very cool shark tank. The sharks swim right up to you. Cost is about 8 pounds.

Situated directly across the Thames from Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, the view and angle for taking some photos is almost the best reason to visit the Aquarium. If you've ever been to a major aquarium in the US, you're sure to be disappointed by the London Aquarium. Size wise, it's not all that large but there are several displays that are quite interesting. Personally, the sharks and piranhas are about the most appealing exhibits here to me, but you may find something to captivate you for hours. This is a site that would be great visiting with kids and there is a family admission package available...otherwise, it's about $8 for adults to get in and to me the money could be better spent visiting one of the other historic sites that this city has to offer.
