Lag B'Omer

Description

The 33rd day between Pesach and Shavuot, this festival occurs because in 135 AD there was a plague between these two holidays; on this day, it miraculously let up. Many Israelis in Tel Aviv choose to be married on Lag B'Omer. It is also customary for people to sit outside around huge bonfires on the eve of Lag B'Omer. Look out for bonfires in parks, pieces of wasteland and along the beach.
