RenFest is a great time for adults and the entire family. There are a series of festivals like this throughout the country, and they are only open for 2 months per year, so check the website for the schedule. You'll see over half the people walking around in period costumes (those who work there and those just attending). Everything from knights, wenches, fairies, kings and queens. You'll get to see live shows (comedy, jousting), eat some food (chocolate-dipped cheesecake is the best), and shop for period crafts, jewelery, or, maybe, your very own sword.
