Isla Center for the Arts

Description

This collection of Micronesian art combines many artistic techniques in its compilation of exhibits. Made up of permanent and temporary (traveling) exhibits, the museum offers displays of folk art, tools and everyday craft items from an Asian influence; similar items from a Philippine influence; and, an anthropological collection of the island aided by many local donations. Donated items include weavings, stone tools, ceremonial masks and dress, and much more. Because of this, despite its being an under-funded, small University Museum, it presents a wonderful array of cultural artifacts. Admission is by donation.
