Description
Built on elevated lands in the north-western part of the city, this place has a slightly curved concrete and steel structure, with horizontal lines that give strength to its design and make the construction visible from various points of the city. Access to the institute is via the grand staircases in the entrance hall.
The main attraction is the planetarium, which consists of a prism, crowned by a dome made with mesh and concrete.
Lectures are held here, generally for students, about the structure and mechanics of the solar system. There are also other rooms where exhibitions are periodically mounted. The institute is in charge of providing all the maps and geographical records of the country.
