Description
On the right hand slopes of Val Susa at a height between 1000-2700 metres, the Gran Bosco di Salbertrand park protects 3775 hectares of land, much of it covered by forests of spruce, white fir and stone pine.
It is still a fairly wild area despite being close to Turin. The wildlife is varied and typical of the mountains in the higher areas: golden eagles, snow grouse and stoats.
If you are patient, you may be lucky enough to encounter red deer, roe deer or chamois.
