Iglesia de Chimbacalle

Description

Located in the south-central part of the city, this is a relatively modern construction that dates back to the year 1912. It is in two sections - the church, with its single nave, and the baptismal chamber. The facade is very plain and simple, with a symmetrical design. The bell tower rises above the frontispiece, with its arched entrance, reached via a semicircular stone staircase. It is located very near to the railway station, where a great number of tourists gather every weekend before leaving for the sierra, in the center of the country. It also has a parochial meeting room where community meetings are periodically held.
