Description
Spend a day in peaceful surroundings in northern Vientiane enjoying hands-on experience in Lao silk dyeing and weaving. Discover how local forest and plant materials are transformed into subtly colored dyes and experiment with weaving techniques. Gloriously patterned woven silks and cottons are on show to admire or buy, and onsite dressmakers can produce garments to order. Telephone or e-mail to book lessons or to arrange a free visit. The non-profit training center charges USD15 per person for one day's weaving, and may provide transport from the city center depending on availability.
