Alive and well in Vientiane is the traditional Hash House fun run, which features twice weekly on the agendas of many expatriates. Combining orienteering, running and some serious drinking afterwards, it is a great way to combine sport and socializing. Monday's run venue is advertised around Vientiane bakeries and the whole family is welcome, even the dog! On Saturdays, Hash roams further afield, meeting at Khop Chai Deu Restaurant at 3.45pm before shared transport whisks you away. There is no charge to runners (except drinking money). The after-run party often rages into Saturday night and attracts extra partygoers.
