The city of Ixtapa has paved a wonderful biking trail that winds through the town from the north to the south. Many locals use this trail, as do tourists. The guide was flexible and let everyone go their own speed. There are a couple of tough hills, but other than that, it's a breeze. We were taken to a lookout point in a swampy area that had alligators (or were they crocodiles?) and many birds. Then we headed out to a pier at the north side of the city where many locals fish. There are water taxis to take you out to Ixtapa island for a fee. We did not have time to take a taxi, and unfortunately we did not get back there at a later time. After that, we turned around and rode the same trail back. The scenery was beautiful and I saw a lot more of Ixtapa than I would have. We were gone for about 2 hours and got some great exercise. Overall, it was a great experience!
