Blissful Massage, Average Manicure

Bliss.

The only way to describe the Ayurvedi full body massage I had at the Myoka Spa in the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa.

My husband, Tom, checked in for a conference and received a 20% off certificate for the spa. As soon as I saw this I decided to book a couple of treatments.

The list of treatments is immense. There are salon services like haircut and colouring. They also have manicures, pedicures and facials. They have massages of all sorts as well as a more specialised such as a Ayuverdic menu. The spa usually has at least two items on offer.

I booked myself in for a full-body Ayuverdic massage and a manicure. This would be a first experience for me. I arrived at the spa which was located in the tower opposite to our room. I had to walk through the lobby and use the lift on the other side. I presented myself at reception and was shown to the locker room where I took off all of my clothes and put on a disposable underwear and a hotel robe.

I was shown to a relaxation room to await my massage therapist. The room was very calm and relaxing and had herbal tea as well as relaxing chairs to lie in. A lovely Indian woman came to take me back to the Ayuverdic centre located at the back of the pool area. Lovely scents wafted through the air.

The lights were dimmed and the therapist asked me about any specific problems I was having. For one hour I lied there having the most wonderful massage. After the full body massage she oiled my scalp and face and massaged them both.

When it was over I felt in a trance and didn't really want to get up to go. I returned to the locker room and got my things. I wore my robe and slippers through the lobby back to my room.

The following day I returned to have a manicure done. Although my nails looked nice when I got done, I didn't have that same relaxed feeling. The girl doing my nails seemed a bit distracted and in a hurry and it made me feel like I just wanted to have her hurry up and get done.

I would seriously consider going back to do one of their all day spa treatments. The massage was out of this world and I would highly recommend a visit.

The spa also includes the pool area, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, fitness centre and everything else I have mentioned prior.

The spa is open Monday-Sunday 9am-7pm. It is best to book in advance as it is very busy. I found the prices to be quite reasonable for a European spa and the 20% off made a big difference, too.
