The Kona Community Aquatic Center is a wonderful place to swim and exercise. They are open on weekdays from 6:15am - 7:45pm and on weekends from 8:15am - 5:45pm for lap and recreational swimming. We usually go there on weekends until 5:45pm when it closes. The main pool is very large and is separated by a concrete walkway. The shallow end has a small recreational swim area for children and adults with about 4 lanes for lap swimming. The deep end has several swimming lanes and diving boards for adults and teens. There is a small colorful children's pool near the building with a cheerful blue mushroom that continuously spouts water that drop off the edge into the small pool. There are several life guards on duty at all hours of the day. The pool area is always kept clean. There are bleachers under a shaded area so you won't get too hot if you decide not to swim. There are more chairs located near the main building as well as restrooms, showers, lockers, and changing areas. If you want to exercise and swim in a large pool, then I would recommend coming to the Kona Community Aquatic Center if you are in the Kailua-Kona area.
