I visited EdVenture Children's Museum in December 2008 with my 3 and 6 year old cousins. They spent an uninterrupted 5 hour trip there...so be prepared for them to stay as long as it's open! (11am to 5pm on weekends). I actually was able to enjoy the Chagall for kids exhibit even though there was no actual art, only prints. I also enjoyed the West Africa exhibit, it was very education. The museum is very hands on with activities in both of the aforementioned exhibits as well as a music activity room (one of my favorites), painting activity room (one of the girls' favorites), internet skill workshop for older children, and attraction on health and the human body (featuring a farting bench and interactive quiz that my dad enjoyed), and an interactive volleyball game that both the kids and adults could enjoy. A word to the wise--there is a giant statue of a boy in the front of the building that features a slide down the front and as you walk up, it shows the boy's anatomy (lungs, heart, brains). The little girls were very scared of this particular aspect. Overall however, they very much enjoyed the experience and the admission is very affordable (I forget how much, I think between $5 and $7 per person). And as an aside, the admission to EdVenture also gets you in to the State Museum just across the parking lot--and there are great views of the river and Gervais St bridge.
