Great Place to Shop for Used Surfboards

This is where I bought my son's first South Point longboard. He really loves his 7'6" Epoxy Schaper South Point longboard since he can use it in a variety of water conditions. He bought it for about $350 which included the long board with a leash, fins and the surf bag which was a very good deal. His long board is in very good shape especially since it is made of epoxy. This board can withstand much more than his fiberglass HIC shortboard. The salesperson was really helpful when he bought his first surfboard. He talked to my son about water safety and about handling the long board in rough surf. I later came back to the shop to repair my son's HIC shortboard. It cost about $80 to repair the nose of the board and some other back areas of the board. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the board repaired because it looked new again. They do a very good job on surfboard repairs and their prices are reasonable. Even though the shop is small, the service is great! The salespersons are very helpful and attentive. All of the salespersons are very knowledgeable about the surf conditions at the local surf spots so you can ask them anything about surfing on the Big Island. I would highly recommend purchasing a used surfboard or repairing a surfboard from Hilo Surfboard Company. They usually close at 5:00 pm on weekdays but they will stay open late if you call.
