Cancun Catamarans Day Trip to Isla Mujeres

I recently booked an online catamaran trip with Cancun Catamarans for our family. This turned out to be one of the best excursions that we did while on holiday in Cancun, all booked and paid for really easily online with Paypal.

We had a very pleasant day sailing, snorkelling and enjoying the open bar aboard a beautiful catamaran called the Gypsey Breeze.

We arrived at the marina with our prepaid voucher in hand, received our bracelet enabling us to go snorkelling over the coral reef and went straight out to the catamaran. The price we had paid online included the federal reef tax, which was a pleasant suprise as we had been caught out with this before on other things, where we had paid the tour only to find out that we needed additional money to pay the taxes when we checked in.... and these taxes had ranged from $5 to $8 USD per person.

We sailed at 10am towards Isla Mujeres and stopped for an hour and a half over the Reef, most people went snorkelling, all equipment was supplied, with a brand new snorkel tube, some stayed aboard the catamaran sunbathing and enjoying the open bar.

We took lunch at the beach club on Isla Mujeres, great food but we had to buy our drinks, and then went off on an excursion into downtown Isla Mujeres.

Those of us brave enough were given a photo opportunity with a Pet Shark, only a small one, but some people were really scared.

Back to the Catamaran and the Open Bar, we had plenty of tequila and beer and then flew on the Spinnaker Sail... this was just like flying on a big kite and was absolutely amazing... I recommend this to everyone.

All in all, a fantastic day, worth every cent, the crew were fantastic and fun and really knew how to get the party going aboard the catamaran.

I would however recommend that you do book online as this was a very busy and popular day trip and the marina was packed, both with private charter people and day trippers, those who hadn't prepaid were in a long line waiting to pay and sort out the reef tax.

We just go back from Cancun and found a very nice company called http://www.cancuncatamarans.com These guys took care of our wedding party perfectly. All 50 of us had such a great time on one of their many very beautiful Catamarans. We had Open Bar, Buffet Lunch, Music and a few of us snorkeled. They even have their own transportation company that got us to the marina and back to our Resort. They took care of our Airport Transportation and Limo for the Wedding. I wish I had found them sooner because they really made everything worry-free and I found out that they can get better rates on rooms than our Travel agent in the States.
