Local Secrets, Big Finds 2007 Pick

  • March 18, 2008
  • Rated 5 of 5 by Local Secrets from New York, New York
Vivid forest green mountains, sapphire-blue skies, and crisp Vermont air provide the extra sensory stimulation for what is truly a celebration of sound and music. The festival "provides mostly outdoor musical experiences," under the stars at venues such as Shelburne Farms, the UVM Show Barn, and aboard the S.S. Champlain. The festival format features 15 concerts and three workshops--usually all sell out. Since 1974, the festival has performed more than 3,000 pieces of Mozart, making it one of the most comprehensive in the country. "Friendly audiences" and a "relaxing yet uplifting atmosphere" make this the "perfect escape from the routine of daily city living."
