Description
Valkenburg in the Limburg region of the Netherlands is a town full of sights, sounds, and history. Many people here in England ask me "Where's that?" I hope to put this fabulous town well and truly on the map! My wife and I travelled by "Ledger Travel, on their trip entitled, 'Valkenburg Crossroads to Europe'". It certainly is a crossroads. France, Belgium, Luxemburg, and Germany are on the doorstep.
All the shops and amenities are there in close proximity to the bus station. It even boasts a ten-pin bowling alley and there is a modern liesure centre. If you are hungry, you won't be for long! The centre has loads of resturants and bars, catering for virtually every taste.
Walk a little way up the hill and you come to the castle and caves. The caves have several carvings done by many people. The place is very hilly and that makes it more unusual, as everyone knows Holland is flat?! The town has its own steam railway that runs through the town rail system. No matter the weather, you will always find something to do. This town comes alive at night and you can enjoy a good meal.
Come to Valkenburg and enjoy the hospitality and friendliness of the local people!${QuickSuggestions} The Best Western Hotel in Walramplien is the best place to stay in Valkenburg. It has its own indoor heated swimming pool and has a breakfast bar that caters for European and English breakfasts. The evening meal is a treat! Well worth a visit.
${BestWay} It is best to come on a coach tour and have a programed excursion.
