Low Country Plantation Boat Tours

We took a 3 hour lighthouse/shelling tour with Captain Rod. We took off on time and headed through the intercostal waterways, as Capt Rod gave us a history of the town and of the plantations we passed on the way. He is very entertaining. He is more than willing to answer any questions you may have about the area. He took us to a barrier island for shelling, he directed us as to where the best shelling is and how to find the shells. Both my boys found conch shells. My youngest even found a starfish. We didn't find any sand dollars but quite a few fellow passengers did. We spent a little over an hour on the island. On the way back we passed close to the Georgetown Lighthouse (North Shore Light). There were snacks and drinks available (very reasonably priced). Although our cruise was supposed to be 3 hours, he told us at the beginning of the cruise that since there was no sunset cruise that evening, we would be taking our time. He gave passengers the opportunity to get off with a full refund if they were on a time restriction. Our entire trip was approx 4 1/2 hours.
